What to Expect from the IRS. Liens, Levies & Other Enforcement Tactics (August 22, 2017)

This session focused on the practical knowledge and skills needed to deal with enforcement methods used by the IRS. Attendees were able to gather a better understanding regarding preventing and differentiating between the different enforcement tactics used by the IRS including liens and levies. By understanding the collection process and IRS enforcement techniques, Circular 230 practitioners are better equipped to protect and advise clients as well as advance collection cases toward a resolution.

Your Client Owes the IRS: What’s Next? (May 25, 2017)

This session focused on the practical knowledge and skills needed by Circular 230 practitioners to properly identify and begin work on collection cases. Attendees were able to garner a better understanding when recognizing tax problems and what leads to them, including how the IRS collection process can impact decision making. Attendees were also able to walk away with the knowledge of broader concepts that apply to collection cases in addition to understanding various nuances that play a role in why certain cases create separate resolution tracks. In addition to important technical information, the session helped attendees better understand the importance of communication, attitude and managing expectations while preparing for resolution alternatives.

Collection Case Workflow: How to Approach a Small Business Tax Liability (December 7, 2016)

This course covered the process for handling an employment tax collection case from start to resolution through the aid of a specific workflow. Attendees were able to walk away with knowledge of broader concepts that apply to collection cases in addition to understanding various nuances that play a role in why certain cases create separate resolution tracks. Appropriate timing and use of various strategies including, but not limited to, penalty abatements, appeals and enforced collection alternatives was also discussed.

IRS Collection Cases: Addressing Small Business Tax Issues (October 25, 2016)

This session focused on the practical knowledge and skills needed by Circular 230 practitioners to properly identify and work collection cases involving small businesses. Attendees were able to gain a better understanding when it comes to recognizing tax problems and what leads to them, including how the IRS collection process can impact these types of cases. This webinar reviewed critical tools and programs available to successfully resolve tax debt issues for clients that fall under the small business umbrella.
